Strength, Honor, and ...

Another character for a Ravnican GURPS campaign.

Pictured here is a Viashino flame trooper for the Boros Legion's 10th Commandos. His full name is unpronounceable by non-draconic races, so he goes by "Deepstalker".

Not seen here is his signature wolf skull helmet and cloak (because skulls are difficult and I wanted to show off the plate armor).

Not happy with the way this turned out.

The line-art was sub-par in the first place (details were done with a 0.7 mm lead instead of the 0.5 mm I should have used). The poop-smear EPSON scanner is total garbage compared to the HP I normally use (which is itself pretty crappy).

Compared with the other GURPS character I did, this one is only about 1/2 the size...which was a poor decision in hindsight.

This piece presented a number of challenges: 1) reptilian features, 2) shading complex shapes, and 3) slightly more advanced textures. To say that I did not meet my imagined expectations is an understatement.

The armor itself draws inspiration from the "Sacred Ashes" trailer for Dragon Age, Halo 3 Marine armor, and concept art done by Wizards of the Coast.

But after a month of working on this on and off, I'm tired of it. Yes, the lines are shoddy. Yes the palette is washed out and limited. Yes, symmetry and anatomy problems abound. No, I don't care.
